Many moons ago (6 years ago in fact) I used to work as a dancer in Cyprus touring around hotels.
I loved it. It was my dream job wearing glitzy costumes, dancing AND getting paid for it. I never in a million years thought I would get picked in an audition against all the other perfect, skinny girls.
I don't know how I reached my 'f**k it' movement where i just went for it.
My roomie was 2 years younger than me, blond, super slim, bubbly and full of confidence. I was in absolute awe of her attitude. She didn't care what anybody thought of her. She loved her body.
I was baffled by this. I had always picked my faults out every time I looked in the mirror.
I had always been surrounded by people who were down on themselves about their body. It wasn't the norm for someone to look in the mirror and love what they see.
But why doesn't it have to be like that?
As humans we invest everything we've got in believing we're not good enough.
When we're born into the world, we're born knowing how to trust our instincts, how to eat when we're hungry, how to not care what anyone thinks of our singing or dance moves.
Then as we grow and learn from people around us, we replace the understandings with negative false beliefs, fear and self-doubt. Then we wind up in emotional and physical pain. Then we numb our pain with drugs, booze, TV, chocolate and Cheetos. Or we settle for feeling like this.
We arrive here as perfect little bundles of joy and set about the task of un-loving ourselves.
Self love is out of the window.
A great quote I love....
"When we're happy and in love with ourselves, we can't be bothered with the bullshit (our own or other people's)."
Most of the time it's our OWN self-doubt and lack of self-belief that stops us achieving what we want to achieve.
I get tonnes of ladies who really do want to change their lifestyle. They are desperate to lose weight, get fit and more importantly feel better about themselves. But theres just something in their mind set stopping them.
Our ladies make a great start towards this by surrounding themselves with likeminded people. Our Bootcamps are far more than just an exercise class. We help you to work on your mindset.
Imagine how different the world would be if you woke up each morning certain of your own amazingness and poo-pooed any guilt, self-doubt, self-loathing and allow yourself to go to and be a BAD ASS!!
Believe it!! Anybody can achieve their dreams. It just takes something for that fire to ignite inside of you.
Monday is a perfect day to start. Get out there and do it!!
Have a great week!
